Farmington MPO 2030 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
The Farmington MPO adopted its first long-range transportation plan on April 21, 2005 to identify and prioritize transportation improvements to serve the cities of Aztec, Bloomfield and Farmington , and the urbanized area of San Juan County. This plan studied present conditions and future needs for the area's transportation system and defined plan goals, objectives, and priorities for the future.
The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (the MTP) is for the year 2030 and includes prioritized improvements for the short-term (1-6 years), near-term (7-20 years), and long-term (20+ years) horizons.

During the development of the MTP, the MPO gathered socioeconomic data that was used to project future population and employment figures. The information gathered for the various land uses also provides estimates on future traffic volumes and the number of trips expected to be made. Click here to view the socioeconomic data.
