Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan
In April 2007 the MPO began a collaborative effort to create a Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan for Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield and the urbanized areas of San Juan County.
The purpose of the Bicycle/Pedestrian plan is to improve networks and facilities for bicyclists and pedestrians, to improve the safety of these networks, and provide mode choice. The intention is to create a plan that will provide guidance on how to make short- and long-term improvements to encourage greater use of biking and walking modes.
The MPO created an advisory group of representative stakeholders, named the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Group (BPAG), to assist in plan development through its entirety. The MPO thanks the participants for their time, input, and support.
The Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan was adopted by:
- The Policy Committee on June 12, 2008.
- The City of Bloomfield on July 14, 2008.
- San Juan County on August 5, 2008.
- The City of Aztec on August 5, 2008.
- The City of Farmington on September 16, 2008.
